About fuel pump
About Specification
- Model name/specs of fuel pump
-
See below link to check model name/basic specifications
modelname_specs_fuelpump
- Applicable oil/fuel
-
- Kerosene, fuel oil A, high calory fuel oil A, fuel oil B, fuel oil C can be transferred.
- Dirty oil, modified oil, water-mixed oil, gasoline, thinner, volatile oil can NOT be used.
- Suction performance of fuel pump
-
Suction performance of NOP® fuel pump is max. 600mmHg, but use fuel pump within the range of specification.
- Allowable nozzle capacity list for fuel pump
-
See details in below chart:
Allowable nozzle capacity list for fuel pump (Japanese)
- Advantage of NOP® fuel pump
-
- Dimention/specs to install NOP® fuel pump is basically the same as other manufacturer's one.
- Max. revolution speed is 3,600rpm and start-up torque is smaller than other pump.
- Kerosene, fuel oil A can be transferred under the condition of low temperature.
- NOP® fuel pump comes with durable and oil-proof shaft seal.
- Pressure relief valve has built-in cut off mechanism with high durability.
- Designated trochoid® pump is used so that durability is very high.
- Thanks to its compact size, the restriction to install is very small and possible to use with single or dual piping.
- Allowable ambient temperature
-
Stand-alone fuel pump must be operated from -20 to 40℃ of ambient temperature. In the case of fuel pump with motor, use it from -10 to 40℃.
- Allowable fluid temperature
-
Kerosene, fuel oil A: Up to 80℃, under the condition of less than 20mm²/sec in kinematic viscosity.
Fuel oil B, fuel oil C: Up to 130℃, under the condition of less than 400mm²/sec in kinematic viscosity.
- Applicable range of kinematic viscosity
-
For low viscosity model: 1.2~20mm2/sec
For high viscosity model: 20~400mm2/sec
- Allowable pressure for shaft seal
-
Allowanble pressure range to protect shaft seal is between -0.08MPa and 0.2MPa.
- Recommended suction filter
-
The capacity of suction filter must be twice as much as the discharged capacity of the pump, and 60-100 mesh is recommended.
- Direction of rotation
-
Standard spec of direction of rotation is clockwise from the view of pump shaft but check details on the product guide to avoid wrong usage.
- Adjusting discharge pressure
-
- It is possible to adjust the pressure but do it within the allowable range.
- Do not screw the bolt for releasing pressure too much, otherwise it may cause some damage on pumphead.
About Installation
- Connection to the drive shaft
-
- Eccentricity between drive shaft and motor shaft must be under ±0.05.
- Shaft of the pump must be direclty connected to the one of the motor.
- Never hit the shaft of the pump when installing coupling.
- Gap between the shaft of pump, coupling, drive shaft must be between 2 and 3mm.
- Measure for safety operation
-
Set the protecter in or near the roter against issues to catch operator's hand by its roter.
- Suitable place to install
-
Do not use in dusty, low/high temperature area. Consult us if you aim to use pump in speciifc circumstance.
- Devices to protect facilities of factory
-
- Install the earth leakage breaker, the protector against over-loaded in the motor of pump.
- Install ampere tester and pressure sensor to detect pump operating without fluid.
- Set the countermeasure for the case of oil leaking because oil seal/packing is not guaranteed to drive forever.
Caution
- Before the operation in the first time
-
- Confirm the direction of rotation and inlet/outlet port of fluid.
- Confirm fluid is fully filled up to the inlet line, and oil itself is clean.
- Confirm each piping is fully fixed.
- Confirm inlet/outlet valves are fully opened.
- Trial operation
-
- Never drive pump more than 20 seconds with no fluid filled.
- Bleed air completely before starting the operation of pump.
- Use drain hose when air bleeding.
- Air bleeding must be done in the upper position of the pump unit.
- Pre-caution for safety operation
-
Never touch pump and motor while pump runs or just when pump stops.
- Basic inspection when starting up
-
Start-up inspection must be done. Especially check oil-leaking, noise and temperature on the pump unit.
- How to clean up strainer
-
Pre-caution to clean up strainer:
- Cover packing must be replaced when cleaning up the strainer.
- Never hit the cover by metal hammer when removing it.
(GD type pump doesn't have built-in strainer)
